My mission is simple: to provide bespoke footwear as unique as the individuals who commission them, combining the rich heritage of Mayfair shoemaking with a modern, personal approach.
My Passion
My Heritage
I am a London-based bespoke shoemaker with over 20 years of experience. Trained in Mayfair under master artisans, i launched my own company in 2024, offering fully handcrafted shoes tailored to each client. Every pair is a collaboration, reflecting personal style through the finest materials, colors, and finishes. With a meticulous, one-on-one approach, I create footwear that blends elegance, comfort, and durability. Serving clients across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. More than just shoes, my creations are timeless pieces designed to be worn and treasured.
My Craft
Measurements
The bespoke process begins with precision, capturing each client’s unique foot shape for a perfect fit. Beyond simple length and width, I assess structure, noting key details like prominent bones or arch support. Carefully tracing the foot and taking multiple measurements, This direct connection between maker and client sets true bespoke shoemaking apart.
Last Making
The last is the foundation of every bespoke shoe—a hand-carved wooden form shaped to your exact foot dimensions. I carefully sculpt a beech block, refining it to balance comfort and aesthetics. Unlike mass-produced lasts, this bespoke model accounts for each foot and personal preferences, ensuring a perfect fit. This is where the science of fit meets shoemaking artistry, dictating everything from toe shape to arch support. An unseen masterpiece, the last defines the silhouette and structure of your bespoke shoes, elevating them from footwear to a true work of art.
Pattern Making and Clicking
With the last complete, the design takes shape in the pattern-making phase. I wrap the last in paper or tape, marking out lines to define the shoe’s proportions. Translating the client’s measurements and design, I create paper patterns for each of the upper’s components, such as the vamp, cap, and quarters.
Using my expertise in leather, I select and cut each piece, considering color, weight, grain, and flexibility. This careful process, known as “clicking,” ensures that every element is perfectly matched to the design and function, setting the stage for the shoe’s construction.
Closing
Closing is where raw materials transform into a shoe’s elegant upper through precise stitching and expert craftsmanship. A skilled closer stitches, reinforces, and shapes the structure, adding details like brogueing, lace holes and lining. Trimmings such as bindings and pull-on loops are carefully secured. Once complete, the upper is pulled over the last and tacked in place, ensuring it conforms perfectly to the foot’s shape. Balancing strength and flexibility, the closer refines every detail for lasting durability and beauty.
Bottom Making
Bottom making is the final stage, where craftsmanship ensures durability, structure, and elegance. Starting by securing and shaping the insole to the last, then adding toe and heel stiffeners for support and shape. The upper is pulled over tightly and hand-stitched in the welt. Then attaching an English oak bark-tanned sole for strength and flexibility. The heel is built layer by layer, and the bottom is meticulously finished for balance and durability. Once finished the last is drawn out, sock linings fitted and the upper polished, the shoes are ready—crafted to fit not just your feet, but your lifestyle.
Trunk Shows
I am also open to visiting additional cities. Please feel free to email a request, and we can discuss arrangements for a private appointment or a trunk show.
